About Us

Building a Stronger Future for Early Childhood Education

ECE Workforce Knowledge HUB provides the best available evidence to support provincial, territorial and local governments in strengthening the early learning and child care workforce. Fair compensation, improved working conditions, and professional recognition are essential for a high-quality system that benefits children and families.

Through research, policy analysis, and collaboration with educators, policymakers, and community leaders, we help ensure the early childhood education workforce has the resources and support needed to sustain a strong and effective workforce.

Land Acknowledgment

At the Atkinson Centre, we recognize that our work, and the work of our partners, takes place on the traditional lands of Indigenous Nations across what is now known as Canada. These lands have been home to First Nations, Métis, and Inuit Peoples since time immemorial, and we acknowledge the treaties, agreements, and unceded territories that continue to shape this country.

We are deeply grateful to Indigenous communities for their ongoing stewardship of these lands and for their contributions to the strength and well-being of all who live here. We are honoured to work alongside Indigenous child care providers, families, and communities and are committed to fostering respectful and reciprocal relationships.

We recognize the significance of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s calls to action, particularly those related to early childhood education and policy. We reaffirm our respect for Indigenous rights and acknowledge Canada’s responsibilities in the ongoing work of reconciliation.
